Wingman Metrics
You're sitting at a window table watching the boats drift through Squalicum Harbor, and the wine list arrives — it's a single page. Eight wines, all Washington State, zero pretension. This isn't a destination wine list, but it knows what it is and doesn't apologize for it.
The entire list is a love letter to Washington wine and not much else, which is either charming or limiting depending on your mood. You've got two house Chardonnays — one from Hedges Wine Estates and one from Long Shadows — both produced specifically for Anthony's, which is a nice touch that keeps the list from feeling like a generic chain pour. Sparkman Cellars shows up twice with their 'Pearl' Sauvignon Blanc and a custom Anthony's Cabernet, and Treveri covers the sparkling angle. What's missing: any Pinot Gris, any Syrah worth mentioning, anything from outside the Pacific Northwest.
All eight bottles are available by the glass, ranging from $7.50 to $9.50 — which, honestly, is refreshingly honest pricing for a waterfront restaurant with this kind of view tax baked into the overhead. The range covers sparkling, white, and red, but don't expect the list to rotate; this feels like a set-it-and-forget-it program that hasn't changed much in a few years.
Treveri Cellars Sparkling Brut — $7.50
Washington sparkling for under eight bucks at a waterfront table is a legitimate steal. Treveri makes serious bubbles out of Yakima Valley and this pours well above its price point.
Long Shadows Anthony's Chardonnay
Long Shadows is one of Washington's most underrated producers — a project that brought in winemaking talent from around the world to work with Columbia Valley fruit. An Anthony's-exclusive Chardonnay from their cellar at $9.50 a glass is more interesting than it looks on paper.
Red Diamond Merlot
Red Diamond is a mass-market label that shows up on grocery store shelves for around $10 a bottle. Pouring it at a waterfront restaurant without any discount pricing signal is a quiet disappointment when the rest of the list is at least trying.
Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling + Wild salmon
Ste. Michelle's Riesling has just enough residual sweetness to play off the richness of Pacific salmon without stepping on the fish. It's a classic Washington pairing that works every time, and at $7.50 it's the easiest call on the menu.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Anthony's isn't trying to be a wine destination — it's a reliable Northwest seafood house that keeps things local, keeps prices honest, and lets the harbor do the heavy lifting. Send a friend here for the salmon and the view; just don't expect to geek out over the list.
Downtown · Bellingham · Asian-Inspired / Cocktail Bar
Redlight isn't a wine destination, but it's a wine bar that still remembers why it became one — and that Le Piane Nebbiolo alone justifies a stop. Come for the cocktails, stay when you spot what's actually on that seven-bottle list.

Waterfront / Bellwether · Bellingham · American Bar & Grill, Waterfront Seafood
The Loft is a Reliable waterfront spot where the wine list will never embarrass you but will rarely excite you — show up on a Wednesday, grab a half-price bottle of the Columbia Crest or Ste. Michelle Riesling, and let the harbor view do the heavy lifting. Don't come here expecting to geek out; do come here expecting a perfectly decent glass of wine with a genuinely great view.

Bellwether / Waterfront · Bellingham · Italian
Lombardi's is doing wine right for what it is: a waterfront Italian spot that wants you to drink well without making you work for it. It's not a destination list, but it's an honest one — fair prices, solid range, and enough Washington representation to feel local.

Keenan's is a reliable wine stop for what it is — a waterfront hotel restaurant where the list supports the meal without demanding your full attention. We'd send a friend here for the view and the salmon, and tell them to order the Talmard Chardonnay or the Orr Chenin while they're at it.

Downtown · Bellingham · Seafood, Oyster Bar, Contemporary American
Rock & Rye is a genuinely surprising find — a 600-bottle list hiding inside a casual oyster bar is the kind of thing that earns you a detour. Markups keep it from being great value, but the selection alone makes it worth exploring if you're willing to dig past the obvious pours.
