First Impression
The list reads like a love letter to the Pacific Northwest — and honestly, for a seafood spot on the Spokane River, that's exactly the right move. Prices are refreshingly reasonable, with bottles topping out around $42.50. You're not going to find anything that makes your jaw drop, but you're also not going to feel taken advantage of.
Selection Deep Dive
The 60-90 bottle list leans hard into Washington and Oregon, with Columbia Valley doing most of the heavy lifting. Anthony's has clearly put in some thought here, building private-label wines with legit producers like Sparkman Cellars and Gordon Estate rather than just slapping their name on bulk juice. The Firesteed Pinot Noir from Oregon is a recognizable crowd-pleaser, and the Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling is a natural call for the seafood-forward menu. What's missing: any real depth outside the Northwest — no French whites, no Italian, no old-world anything to speak of.
By the Glass
Nine options by the glass, priced between $7.50 and $9, which is genuinely hard to complain about in 2024. The selection covers the bases — a Chardonnay, a Sauvignon Blanc, a Pinot Noir — but don't expect much rotation or excitement. What's here is solid, just don't come looking for something left-field.
Sparkman Cellars 'Pearl' Sauvignon Blanc Columbia Valley 2023 — $9/glass
Sparkman Cellars makes wines that routinely punch above their retail price, and getting their Sauvignon Blanc by the glass for $9 at a waterfront seafood restaurant is a legitimate deal. Order it with the Dungeness crab and move on with your life.
Anthony's by Gordon Estate Chardonnay Columbia Valley 2018
Gordon Estate is a quietly serious Columbia Valley producer that most diners will walk right past in favor of something they recognize. This is Anthony's betting on a quality partner instead of a famous label — it deserves more attention than it gets.
Firesteed Pinot Noir Oregon 2019
Firesteed is fine, but it's the kind of wine you find on every casual chain restaurant list from here to Miami. At a restaurant with its own private-label Pinot from Sparkman Cellars, there's no reason to default to this one.
Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling Columbia Valley 2019 + Pacific Salmon
Washington Riesling and Pacific salmon is basically the regional handshake — the wine's bright acidity and slight stone fruit cut right through the richness of the fish without steamrolling it. This is the call.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Anthony's at Spokane Falls gives you honest, fairly priced Northwest wines in a setting where they make sense — a waterfall view, fresh seafood, and bottles under $45. It's not a destination for wine lovers, but it's a genuinely solid choice for the meal you're already here to eat.
