The wine list at Animas Rooftop Lounge is exactly what you'd expect from a rooftop bar in a mountain town — familiar labels, approachable prices, and zero pretension. It's a 23-bottle list that isn't trying to impress anyone, which is fine, because the view is probably doing most of the heavy lifting anyway.
The list leans heavily on California-centric crowd-pleasers: Clos du Bois, Frei Brothers, Decoy, Hess, Chateau St. Michelle. These are grocery-store fixtures, not destinations. The one bright spot is a small cluster of San Juans wines — a local Colorado producer — including a Dry Riesling, a Cabernet Sauvignon, and something called Girls Are Meaner, which at least signals someone on staff has a sense of humor. The Domaine Ligier Crémant Rosé is a legitimately interesting pick that sits above the rest of the list in terms of character. Beyond that, the coverage is thin on reds and whites alike, with no real depth in any region.
Eight pours by the glass ranging from $10 to $12 is genuinely reasonable for a rooftop destination in a tourist-heavy town. You get white, red, and sparkling options covered, though the selection mirrors the safe, branded approach of the bottle list. The Domaine Ligier Crémant Rosé at $12/glass is the standout in the lineup.

If you're in Durango and want a solid glass without overthinking it, this works.
