The wine list at A&B Lobster House arrives feeling as polished as the harbor view — leather-bound, confident, zero surprises. It's the kind of list that knows exactly what it is: crowd-friendly California heavy-hitters designed to move alongside a $65 cold-water lobster tail. Nobody here is trying to impress your wine-obsessed friend from Portland, and they're not pretending to.
The 80-to-130-label list leans hard on Napa and broader California, with France and Italy rounding things out in supporting roles. You'll find the usual suspects — Caymus Cab, Jordan, Rombauer — done well and priced accordingly (read: not gently). There's no real sense of adventure here; this is a list built to reassure guests who already know what they like, not to challenge or convert anyone. That said, for a waterfront steak-and-lobster house in Key West, that may be exactly the right call.
The by-the-glass program runs 10 to 16 options depending on the season, covering the basic categories without much personality — expect a Chardonnay, a Cab, a Pinot, a bubbly. Glasses run $14–$22, which is firmly in upscale-restaurant territory but not criminal for the zip code. Rotation appears minimal; what's on the menu today was probably on it six months ago.
Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon, Alexander Valley — $75–$95
Jordan consistently overdelivers for its price point — structured, approachable, and genuinely food-friendly with the surf and turf. In a list full of marked-up Napa icons, Jordan represents the most honest dollar-for-dollar trade.
Meiomi Pinot Noir, California
Yes, it's everywhere. But at a lobster house, an easy-drinking, slightly off-dry Pinot with good fruit weight actually plays well with the sweetness of cold-water lobster — better than the Cab most people reflexively order. It won't impress anyone at the table, but it'll drink better with the food.
Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
Caymus is the most aggressively marked-up wine on lists like this, almost without exception. You're paying a hefty premium for a label that leans sweet and plush — fine on its own, but a strange match for lobster, and rarely priced in a way that makes sense when better options exist on the same list.
Rombauer Chardonnay, Carneros + Cold-water lobster tail
Rombauer's butter-forward, richly textured Chardonnay mirrors the natural sweetness of cold-water lobster without fighting it. It's not a subtle pairing — it's a full-volume one — but on a warm Key West night with a harbor view, that's exactly what the moment calls for.

A&B Lobster House is not a wine destination, but it's a competent one — reliable pours, familiar names, and a setting that makes almost anything taste better. Send your friends here for the lobster and the view; just steer them toward Jordan and away from Caymus.

Bagatelle is doing more with wine than most restaurants in the Keys bother to attempt, and for a tourist-heavy Duval Street address, that matters. The markups are real and the list skews safe-prestige, but if you're in Key West and want a proper bottle with your lobster, this is where you go.

Thirsty Mermaid is a Wild Card in the best sense — a no-frills raw bar that somehow sourced a wine list worthy of a much fancier room. The markups on the high-end bottles are steep and there's no wine program energy to speak of, but the Cava-and-oysters combination alone is worth the stop.

Moondog isn't a wine destination, and it doesn't pretend to be — but it offers a surprisingly considered little list at prices that don't insult your intelligence, which puts it well ahead of the tourist-trap cafes clustered around it. If you're in Old Town and want a glass with your morning or a light lunch, there are worse decisions you'll make in Key West.
