First Impression
Yard House is a beer hall at heart, and the wine list knows it. You flip past the 100+ taps to find a wine section that reads like a greatest hits compilation from every grocery store end cap in America. Nothing offensive, nothing exciting.
Selection Deep Dive
The list leans hard on California and Washington with a few New Zealand cameos — think Kendall-Jackson, La Marca, and the usual suspects you've seen at every chain restaurant from here to Phoenix. There's no real regional depth or attempt to venture off the beaten path, and producers with any kind of story or craft identity are nowhere to be found. New World safe-plays dominate from start to finish. If you were hoping for a Willamette Pinot or a Walla Walla Syrah to liven things up, keep hoping.
By the Glass
The by-the-glass program is actually one of the stronger elements here — 15 to 25 options gives you range, even if the range is mostly familiar faces. Rotation appears minimal; this looks like a static list that hasn't been touched since the menu last reprinted. Points for availability, docked for ambition.
La Marca Prosecco — $13.49
At a 12% markup over retail, this is the rare honest pour on an otherwise inflated list. It's nothing groundbreaking, but it's fresh, easy, and won't make your wallet hurt.
La Marca Prosecco
In a list full of overpriced California Chardonnay, the Prosecco is quietly the best deal in the room. Most people at Yard House order beer — which means the bubbly often gets ignored. That's your opportunity.
Kendall-Jackson Chardonnay
A $42 bottle of Kendall-Jackson is a $15 bottle of Kendall-Jackson with a 180% markup. You can buy three of these at the grocery store for what they're charging here. Hard pass.
La Marca Prosecco + Cajun Shrimp Pasta
The spice in the Cajun shrimp pasta needs something with brightness and bubbles to cut through it. La Marca's light, citrus-forward fizz does exactly that — and at this price point, you might even order a second glass.
❌ The Bottom Line
Yard House is a perfectly fine place to drink beer. The wine list exists mostly as an obligation, and the Kendall-Jackson markup alone tells you everything you need to know about how much thought went into it. Stick to the taps or grab the Prosecco and call it a night.
