The wine list at Wild Fish reads like it was built by someone who actually cares about the food — almost everything on it comes from within a few hours' drive of your table. It's not a long list, but it's pointed, and that focus earns respect. The Monterey County and Central Coast lean is smart, not lazy.
Fifty to eighty selections isn't deep, but Wild Fish makes the count work by sticking close to home. Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir, Edna Valley Albariño, Bernardus Chardonnay — these aren't filler picks, they're wines with actual regional identity. The Pisoni Estate Pinot Noir represents one of the most respected family vineyards in California, full stop. Where the list thins out is in the middle — there's a noticeable gap in the $50–$80 range where interesting options get scarce and you end up either going cheap or splurging.
By-the-glass counts are unconfirmed, but estimated pours run $13–$22, which is on-par for a Cannery Row address. If Tangent Albariño makes the glass list — and it should — that's the move. A tight, well-chosen BTG program would complement this list nicely; we just can't confirm how deep the rotation goes on any given night.

Albariño and seafood is one of the most reliable combos in the book, and Tangent does it at a price that doesn't make you wince. Crisp, saline, and built for exactly what's on this menu.
Morgan Pinot Noir Monterey
Morgan gets overshadowed by bigger-name Monterey producers but consistently delivers honest, cool-climate Pinot at a fair price. Most people reaching for Pinot here will default to the Pisoni — this one quietly offers more value per dollar.
Bernardus Chardonnay Monterey County
Bernardus makes good wine, no argument there. But at a Cannery Row restaurant with seafood-forward pricing, the Chardonnay tends to land at a markup that puts it in awkward territory — you're paying for the label recognition more than what's in the glass. The Albariño is a better call at the table.
Pisoni Estate Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands + Cioppino
Tomato-forward fish stews and light-to-medium red Pinot Noir are an underrated match — the acidity in both plays well together, and Pisoni's earthy, cool-climate structure doesn't bulldoze the seafood the way a bigger red would.

Wild Fish isn't trying to be a wine destination, but the list punches thoughtfully above its weight with genuine regional focus and fair pricing. If you're eating here — and you should be — drink local and let the terroir match the catch.
