Walking into TMACS, the wine list reads like a love letter to Walla Walla — and we mean that in the best way. It's not trying to be a New York steakhouse cellar; it's leaning hard into its own backyard, and that restraint is smart. The focus is tight, regional, and genuinely considered.
The list runs 50–80 bottles deep and sticks close to home, with Washington State and the Walla Walla Valley carrying the majority of the weight. You'll find serious names here — L'Ecole No. 41, Gramercy Cellars, Leonetti Cellar, Buty Winery — which tells you someone is paying attention and has good taste in local producers. The international bench is thin, so if you're chasing a Barolo or a Burgundy, you'll be disappointed, but that's not the point of this place. Think of it as a curated showcase rather than a deep cellar.
The by-the-glass program runs 10–14 options in the $10–$16 range, which is reasonable for the market and gives you a solid window into the regional lineup without committing to a bottle. We'd like to see more rotation to keep regulars engaged, but what's there is honest and well-chosen. The pours lean Washington-centric, which is exactly right given where you're sitting.
L'Ecole No. 41 Semillon — $10–$14/glass
L'Ecole's Semillon is one of Washington's most undervalued white wines — full, textured, and genuinely interesting — and getting it by the glass at this price point is a minor miracle. Order it.
Buty Winery Columbia Rediviva
Most tables at TMACS are going to reach for the Leonetti or the Gramercy, but the Buty Columbia Rediviva — a Cab Sauv and Syrah blend — is the kind of wine that rewards curiosity. Buty doesn't get the hype its neighbors do, but the quality is absolutely there.
Leonetti Cellar Merlot
Look, Leonetti makes great wine — nobody's arguing that — but the bottle price here reflects the name recognition more than anything else. You're paying a premium for prestige in a market that already marks up Leonetti heavily. The Gramercy Syrah will give you more bang per dollar and a more interesting story.
Gramercy Cellars Syrah + Seafood entrée (grilled or pan-seared fish)
Gramercy's Syrah has enough Northern Rhône-ish savory character — think olive tapenade, cracked pepper, iron — that it can stand up to a richly prepared piece of fish without bulldozing it. It's the kind of pairing that surprises people who think Syrah is strictly red-meat territory.

TMACS is exactly what a downtown Walla Walla restaurant should be doing with its wine list — local, focused, and priced like they actually want you to drink the stuff. If you're in town for the wineries and want a dinner that feels like an extension of the tasting room experience rather than a detour from it, this is your spot.
