The Menu's Great. The Wine List Isn't.

Wingman Metrics
The wine list here reads like a grocery store endcap in laminated form — familiar labels, safe bets, nothing that's going to surprise you or your dining companion. It's not that the list is offensive, it's that it clearly wasn't curated so much as assembled. When the menu runs 250 items and the wine program gets a page and a half, you can guess where the priorities are.
Forty to sixty bottles sounds like a reasonable spread until you start clocking the names: Kendall-Jackson, Josh Cellars, Meiomi. These are Costco wines dressed up in a chain-restaurant context, priced accordingly higher. The regional focus is almost exclusively California, with a nod to 'international' that probably means a French Bordeaux blend and a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc to keep things lively. There's no depth here, no small producers, nothing that would make a wine-curious diner lean in. The list exists to move volume, not to inspire.
Fifteen to twenty-five pours by the glass sounds generous until you realize it's just the same familiar names in stemware. Whispering Angel Rosé makes an appearance, which is fine but has become the pumpkin spice latte of rosé at this point. Expect no rotation, no seasonal adjustments, and no staff who can tell you why one glass is a better pick than another.
Whispering Angel Rosé — $14
It's omnipresent for a reason — it's crowd-proof, food-friendly, and holds up against the big bold flavors on this menu without fighting them. Not exciting, but it does the job better than anything else on this list.
Meiomi Pinot Noir
Meiomi gets dismissed as a mass-market crowd-pleaser — and, fine, it is — but at a loud, chaotic chain dinner with something rich like Chicken Madeira on the table, this soft, fruit-forward Pinot actually functions. Lower tannins, easy drinking, won't clash. Underestimated in this context.
Josh Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon
Josh Cellars Cab is fine at $12 retail. Here it's priced at a steep markup for something you can grab at any gas station with a decent wine rack. There is no world in which this bottle warrants restaurant pricing. Hard pass.
Whispering Angel Rosé + Avocado Eggrolls
The Avocado Eggrolls have that creamy-savory-sweet thing going on, and a dry Provençal rosé like Whispering Angel cuts through the richness without bullying the flavor. It's the most functional wine match on a list with limited options.
❌ The Bottom Line
The Cheesecake Factory does a lot of things well — wine is not one of them. Order the cocktail, enjoy the Chicken Madeira, and save your wine curiosity for somewhere that earned it.
Westgate Entertainment District · Glendale · American gastropub / bar & grill
Bar Louie Westgate is a perfectly fine place to drink beer and watch a game — the wine list is an afterthought and everyone involved seems to know it. If wine is your thing, order a cocktail and come back to the wine conversation at a different restaurant.

Arrowhead Ranch / Union Hills · Glendale · Wine Bar
Turquoise Wine Bar is the kind of place that earns its Wild Card badge honestly — not by being weird for weird's sake, but by curating a genuinely curious list in a zip code that didn't ask for one. Send your wine-curious friends here; they'll leave with something new to talk about.

Westgate · Glendale · Italian-American
Maggiano's Westgate is perfectly fine for a glass of wine with dinner — just don't come expecting the list to match the ambition of the kitchen. If wine is actually important to your night, this probably isn't your destination.

Bonefish Grill Glendale isn't a wine destination, but it's a perfectly functional place to have a glass with dinner without feeling ripped off. Send your friends here for the Bang Bang Shrimp — just don't tell them to geek out on the list.
