The list leans into its California coastal identity hard, which makes sense, but don't expect any surprises or bargains. This is a resort wine program doing exactly what a resort wine program does.
The list covers 200-plus selections built around Central Coast, Napa, and Sonoma with a respectable Burgundy section for the old-world faithful. Producers like Ridge Monte Bello, Peter Michael, and Flowers anchor the California side with genuine credibility — these aren't throwaway selections dropped in to impress; someone actually thought about this list. Bernardus Marinus from nearby Carmel Valley is a smart local inclusion that shows regional awareness. The gaps are on the international side — if you're looking for Barolo, Rioja, or anything from the Southern Hemisphere, you're mostly out of luck.
Exact glass counts aren't published, but with a list this size at a Lodge property, expect a respectable pour program in the $18–$45 range. The trouble is that at those prices, the math rarely works in your favor unless you're only having one glass — a bottle starts looking like the smarter move quickly. We'd push the staff on what's open and drinking well before defaulting to the menu.
Bernardus Marinus, Carmel Valley — $60–$80 est.
A Bordeaux-style blend from literally down the road in Carmel Valley, Bernardus Marinus brings genuine regional character and tends to be one of the more fairly priced bottles on a list that otherwise leans expensive. It's a legitimate wine, not a filler pick, and ordering it here — with the coast right outside — just makes sense.
Flowers Chardonnay, Sonoma Coast
Most tables at a room like this gravitate toward Napa Cab or something with Opus One energy. Flowers Chardonnay from the Sonoma Coast is the smarter play — cool-climate, restrained, with enough tension to actually cut through rich seafood without burying it. It's on the list, it's overlooked, and it belongs at this table.
Opus One, Napa Valley
Opus One is a fine wine. It's also one of the most aggressively marked-up bottles on any resort list in California, and you're paying a premium on top of an already-inflated retail price. At a seafood-forward restaurant on the coast, it's also a strange pairing choice. The prestige is real; the value is not.
Flowers Chardonnay, Sonoma Coast + Fresh local oysters and raw bar selections
Sonoma Coast Chardonnay at its best is briny, bright, and cool — basically engineered for Pacific shellfish. Flowers in particular has the salinity and citrus tension to play off fresh oysters without overwhelming them. It's one of those combinations that makes you feel like you ordered correctly.

Stillwater earns its reputation on setting and execution, and the wine list is professionally managed with real producers and proper care — but the pricing reflects the zip code more than it reflects generosity. Go in with eyes open, lean local, and let the view do the rest.
