Wingman Metrics
The wine list at Snow Lodge arrives feeling exactly like the room it's served in — polished, confident, and not especially interested in surprising you. This is a St. Regis property in Aspen, so expectations for execution are high and mostly met. What you won't find is any tension or adventure; the list plays its greatest hits and plays them well.
The list runs 80-150 bottles with a clear tilt toward Provence rosé, Champagne, Italian whites, and California reds — a lineup built for the après-ski crowd who knows what they like and isn't here to experiment. Whispering Angel and Miraval anchor the rosé section, which feels more like a marketing strategy than a curation decision at this point. Billecart-Salmon makes a welcome appearance in the Champagne section and is genuinely one of the better houses they could have reached for. The Italian and California selections likely fill out the bottle list competently, but there's no sign of anything from the Jura, the Loire, the Rhône, or anywhere that might make a wine-curious guest lean forward.
With 12-20 pours available by the glass, the program is generous in count if not in range. Expect the expected: a rosé or two, a Champagne option, something Italian and something Californian. Rotation appears minimal — this reads as a set-and-forget glass program designed around resort consistency rather than seasonal discovery.
Billecart-Salmon Champagne — Unknown
At a resort lounge where bubbly is almost a dress code, Billecart-Salmon is the right call — a serious, well-regarded house that outperforms the celebrity-brand alternatives. If you're spending resort dollars on Champagne anyway, at least make it count.
Miraval Rosé
Yes, it's the Brad-and-Angelina wine and yes, everyone's heard of it — but the juice is genuinely good, made in collaboration with the Perrin family of Château Beaucastel. In a list dominated by Whispering Angel, Miraval is the more interesting Provence pour and often overlooked in its shadow.
Whispering Angel Rosé
There's nothing wrong with Whispering Angel except what you're paying for it at a luxury resort in Aspen. The markup on this bottle — already one of the most aggressively distributed rosés on the planet — will be painful. You're paying for the label and the vibe, not the wine.
Billecart-Salmon Champagne + Mezze Platter
The high acidity and fine bubbles cut right through hummus, olives, and cured meats without ever competing with the varied flavors on the board. Champagne and a mezze spread is an underrated combination, and Billecart-Salmon is crisp enough to hold its own across every bite.
The Bottom Line
Snow Lodge delivers exactly what a St. Regis resort lounge should: proper glassware, knowledgeable staff, and a list that won't embarrass anyone. Just don't come looking for discovery — this list is built for comfort, and the markups reflect the altitude in more ways than one.

Clark's Oyster Bar Aspen earns the Wild Card badge by doing something almost no oyster bar does: ditching the dry wine playbook entirely and building a focused, globally-sourced dessert wine list with real producers at fair prices. It's a bizarre and commendable choice. Come for the oysters, stay for the Madeira — just don't expect a Muscadet to wash them down.

MOLLIE runs one of the most thoughtful compact lists in Aspen, and the all-by-the-glass format means you can drink your way through France without committing to a bottle. The pricing is fair for the altitude and the address, and the curation punches above a typical hotel program. If you're passing through and want a smart glass of wine without a thesis-length wine list, this is your spot.

Hotel Jerome's Living Room list is a pleasant surprise in a market where hotel wine programs often coast on tourist ignorance and Famous Names. The selection is short but curated, with enough Old World intrigue — the Vajra Barbera, the Quintodecimo, the Bandol rosé — to reward the curious. Markups are real and Aspen-appropriate, so set your expectations accordingly. If you're staying at the hotel or catching a drink after a ski day, you'll drink well here without feeling insulted.

Mezzaluna's wine list is a missed opportunity in a town that could easily support something far more interesting. The markups are real — Santa Margherita at $64 and Joel Gott Cab at $60 are doing the heavy lifting on margin — and the selection never ventures beyond brands your parents recognize. If you're eating here, drink the Frescobaldi or the Ruffino Riserva and call it a night; don't expect the list to surprise you.

AspenX Beach Club is exactly what it advertises: a spectacle first, a wine program second. There's a sommelier on staff and the Champagne-and-rosé focus is at least intentional and coherent, but pricing at this address in this atmosphere is going to sting. Go for the experience, order something cold and bubbly, and don't stress about the list — that's clearly not the point.

Nobu Aspen's wine list won't win awards for depth or value, but it earns respect for its unexpected Australian backbone and a by-the-glass program that actually has range and structure. If you're dropping serious money at this address anyway, lean into the Swinney Grenache or the Domaine Laroche Chablis — someone cared enough to put them there.
