Nine bottles. That's it. For most restaurants that would be a red flag, but at Sakura Ridge — a working farm and lodge perched above the Columbia River Gorge — nine carefully chosen bottles feels like a deliberate editorial statement, not neglect. This isn't a wine list built to impress a sommelier; it's built to match an evening on a porch watching the sun drop behind Mount Hood.
What's here is genuinely well-curated: a Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé sits next to a 2013 Andrew Will Champoux Vineyard Sorella, one of Washington's most serious Bordeaux-style blends, and a La Spinona Bergera Barolo 2015 that has no business being on a farm lodge list but earns its spot. The Eyrie Vineyards Oregon Pinot Gris 2021 nods to the local Pacific Northwest story, and the Bernard Fleuriet Sancerre and Justin Girardin Bourgogne Blanc cover Old World classics without being lazy about it. There are real gaps — no Oregon Pinot Noir to speak of, no skin-contact wines despite this being prime natural wine territory — but what's here skews high quality over high volume. The Phelps Creek Columbia George Pinot Noir 2014 is the lone regional red, which feels like a missed opportunity given how deep the Gorge AVA rabbit hole goes.
By-the-glass options are unknown — the list doesn't publicize pours, and given the lodge context, it likely operates as bottle-only or informal pour-on-request for guests. If you're hoping to work through multiple wines by the glass on a weeknight, manage expectations before you arrive.
Eyrie Vineyards Oregon Pinot Gris 2021 — $32
At the low end of the list price range, this is the move. Eyrie practically invented Oregon Pinot Gris and the 2021 is textbook Willamette — bright, a little waxy, built for food. Drinking a Gorge-adjacent bottle while staring at the actual Gorge is the whole point of this place.
Domaine de Nugues Gilles Gelin Brouilly 2019
Nobody comes to a farm lodge expecting a solid Beaujolais cru, which is exactly why this one deserves attention. Brouilly at its best is juicy, earthy, and more serious than its reputation — this producer hits that mark, and it'll feel right at home with anything farm-fresh on the breakfast or snack spread.
Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé Champagne NV
At $110 a bottle, you're paying a significant lodge premium for a Champagne you can find at most wine shops for considerably less. It's a great bottle — Billecart Rosé always is — but the value math doesn't work here. Save it for a restaurant with actual Champagne service to match.
Château Beaubois Cuvée Expression Rosé 2021 + Farm-style breakfast
A Languedoc rosé at a farm breakfast sounds absurd until it doesn't. Fresh, dry, and built for light food — it cuts through anything egg-based and feels celebratory without the Champagne price tag. This is the 'it's vacation, we're doing this' pour.

Sakura Ridge isn't a wine destination — it's a lodge that happens to have a small, surprisingly honest wine list for guests who want something worth drinking with their orchard views. If you're staying here, lean into it; if you're driving out just for wine, the Columbia Gorge has better options nearby.

3 Rivers Grill is a genuinely solid wine destination for a mid-sized grill in Hood River — the Pacific Northwest selections are legit, the view earns its own tip, and a few bottles here are worth making a reservation for specifically. The markups on trophy bottles will make you wince, but stick to the regional lineup and you'll leave happy.
