The wine list at Roy's arrives with more ambition than you'd expect from a chain with a tiki-adjacent reputation. Fifty-eight labels and 28 by-the-glass options is a genuine program — not a laminated afterthought. The white wine focus makes sense given the seafood-forward menu, and there's real thought behind the selections.
The whites are the clear headline here: Roy's leans into Chardonnay hard, stacking Rombauer, Patz and Hall Dutton Ranch, Grgich Hills, Sonoma Cutrer, and a Domaine Laroche Chablis all on one list. That's a respectable California Chardonnay deep cut alongside a legitimate Burgundy touchstone. More interesting is the supporting cast — Raats Original Chenin Blanc from South Africa, d'Arenberg Hermit Crab Viognier/Marsanne, and a Leeuwin Estate Art Series Riesling from Western Australia show a curator with some range. The Champagne shelf goes Dom Pérignon and Veuve Clicquot, which is crowd-pleasing but safe; Schramsberg Mirabelle at $98 is the better call for a celebratory pour.
Twenty-eight by-the-glass options is an unusually generous pour program — most restaurants half-heartedly top out at ten. The $12–$29 range means you can explore without committing to a bottle, which pairs well with a shared-plates approach to the menu. We'd want to know how frequently the pours rotate, but for a chain, this depth by the glass is legitimately impressive.
Leeuwin Estate Art Series Riesling — $48
Western Australian Riesling from one of the country's most respected producers at the list's floor price — this is the sleeper pick. Crisp, structured, and built for seafood. It opens the list and closes the value argument.
Raats Original Chenin Blanc
South African Chenin Blanc is still flying under most diners' radar, and Raats is one of the best doing it. Textural, food-friendly, and nothing like the Chardonnay-or-Sauv Blanc autopilot most tables default to. Worth the curiosity.
Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio
At $68 a bottle, Santa Margherita is doing exactly what it's been doing since 1989 — charging premium prices on name recognition alone. It's a perfectly ordinary wine wearing a status price tag. The Leeuwin Riesling at $48 runs circles around it.
d'Arenberg Hermit Crab Viognier/Marsanne + Roy's Classic Misoyaki Butterfish
The Hermit Crab's floral weight and stone-fruit richness match the buttery sweetness of the misoyaki glaze without getting steamrolled by it. This is the kind of pairing that makes the whole table stop talking for a second.
The Bottom Line
Roy's punches above its chain-restaurant weight with a wine list that has real picks across sparkling, white, and international categories — but steep markups on recognizable bottles mean you need to know where to look. Stone & Barrel is a solid neighborhood destination in the southeast Valley where the food — especially the wood-fired pizza — is the main event, and the wine list is a willing supporting act. We don't have enough detail on the full wine program to send you in with a specific bottle in hand, but if you're going for a casual dinner with friends in Sun Lakes, you're unlikely to go thirsty. Come for the pizza, manage your expectations on the wine, and you'll have a good night.

Bourbon & Bones is a steakhouse that takes its Champagne seriously — the sparkling selection runs deeper than most dedicated wine bars in the Valley, and the by-the-glass program gives you real options at multiple price points. The markups are steep across the board and the non-sparkling list is nothing to write home about, but if you're coming here to celebrate over a bone-in ribeye and a bottle of Dom, this list is built for exactly that occasion.
