Wingman Metrics
You walk into Roxy expecting a casino wine list and that's exactly what you get — California all-stars, familiar labels, nothing that'll surprise you. The room is upscale steakhouse through and through, which sets the expectation correctly: this list was built for ribeye-and-Cab people, and it delivers on that promise.
The list runs 80-120 bottles deep with a heavy lean into Napa and Sonoma — think Caymus, Jordan, Duckhorn, Rombauer. These are crowd-pleasing names that move bottles in a resort setting, and there's nothing wrong with that, but don't come looking for a Jura oddity or an off-vintage Barolo. The California focus is total and unapologetic. What's missing is any real breadth — no meaningful representation from France, Italy, or even domestic producers outside the usual suspects. It's a list that never takes a swing.
Twelve to eighteen pours by the glass is a respectable count for a steakhouse, and the range tracks with the bottle list — expect Rombauer Chardonnay and something from the Duckhorn family showing up here. Rotation feels minimal; this reads like a set-it-and-forget-it program rather than something actively curated. If you're staying for a couple glasses at the bar, you're covered; just don't expect anything you haven't already tried.
Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon — Unknown — check current menu
Jordan consistently punches above its casino-list placement. It's a proper Alexander Valley Cab with structure and restraint — not the fruit bomb the Caymus crowd expects, which means it often sits underordered. On a Wednesday when bottles under $99 are half price, this is potentially the best deal in the room.
Duckhorn Merlot
Merlot gets no respect at steakhouses because everyone's reaching for Cab, but Duckhorn's Napa Merlot is genuinely excellent — plush, structured, and built for red meat just as much as anything with Cabernet on the label. Most tables will walk right past it.
Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon
Caymus is the default Cab order at every upscale casino restaurant in the country, and the markup reflects that popularity. You're paying for the name recognition at this point — the wine itself has gotten softer and more commercial over the years. Jordan does the job better and probably costs less.
Rombauer Chardonnay + Mushroom Ravioli
Rombauer's signature butterscotch-and-cream Chardonnay is almost too obvious with rich pasta, but sometimes obvious is right. The wine's oak and weight hold up against earthy mushroom filling without fighting the dish — and at a table full of steak orders, this is the move for anyone who isn't going red.
Wednesday — Half-price on all wine bottles priced $99 and under, every Wednesday night at Roxy's bar and restaurant. Confirmed via Eldorado/Roxy Instagram marketing.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Roxy isn't a destination wine program — it's a competent casino steakhouse list with the right bottles for the room. Show up on a Wednesday, order the Jordan at half price, and you'll leave happy.
Downtown / Casino Row · Reno · Upscale American Steakhouse
Ruth's Chris Reno is a reliable, well-run steakhouse wine program inside a casino resort — competent glassware, proper storage, and a sommelier who knows the list cold. Just don't come here looking for discovery; come here knowing exactly what you want and prepared to pay full freight for it.

Sierra St. Kitchen punches above its weight for downtown Reno — the list has real producers, genuine range, and a sommelier keeping it honest. Just know the markups are real, and steer toward the Old World and Pacific Northwest bottles where the value hides.

Calafuria isn't trying to be a destination wine list — it's trying to be the right wine list for this restaurant, and it mostly succeeds. Send your friends here if they want something Italian that doesn't feel phoned in; just don't expect fireworks beyond the bottle.

Great Full Gardens isn't a wine destination and it doesn't pretend to be — but for a health-focused café in Northwest Reno, the glass prices are honest and the pours are solid enough to enjoy alongside the food. Send a friend here for lunch, just don't tell them to order the Chardonnay.

LuLou's wine list won't win any awards, but it won't ruin your dinner either — and in a city where restaurant wine programs often feel like an afterthought, that counts for something. Send a friend here for a solid meal with a bottle of Jordan; just don't expect to discover anything new.

Casale's Halfway Club is a place you come for the history, the hearty food, and the Picon punch — the wine list is a supporting actor, not the main event. But with fair markups and a few solid picks, it's more than good enough to keep pace with the meal.
