First Impression
You're on a rooftop in Kansas City, the skyline is doing its thing, and then the wine list lands — and it's basically a sparkling-heavy shortlist that reads like it was designed to move bottles fast, not drink well. This is a cocktail bar that tolerates wine, not a wine program with ambition.
Selection Deep Dive
The list tops out around 20-40 bottles with a heavy lean into bubbles — Cava, Prosecco, California sparkling, and Veuve anchor most of the interesting real estate. Spain and Italy show up, California fills the rest, and that's about as adventurous as it gets. There's no old-world still wine worth talking about, no regional surprises, and nothing that suggests anyone on staff is losing sleep over the selection. It's a list built for a rooftop crowd ordering bottles to share while watching the sunset, and it knows exactly what it is.
By the Glass
Glass pours run $13–$16, which is respectable for Kansas City but the options are thin — at least four pours, skewed predictably toward bubbles and crowd-friendly whites. Don't expect rotation or anything poured by-the-glass that would make you cancel your cocktail order.
Segura Viudas Brut Rosé Cava — $52
Segura Viudas is a genuinely solid Cava producer and the Brut Rosé punches above what you'd expect at this price point on a rooftop list. It's festive, it's food-friendly, and it won't make you wince at the bill the way the Veuve will.
Jeio by Bisol Prosecco
Bisol is one of the more serious names in Prosecco and Jeio is their approachable tier — but it's a step above the generic Proseccos most rooftop bars pour. Most people here will reach for Veuve on autopilot; grab this instead and keep a few bucks in your pocket.
Veuve Clicquot
Veuve Clicquot is everywhere and marks up the same way everywhere — you're paying a significant premium for a label that's become a status prop more than a wine experience. The Cava or Jeio will drink just as well with your spicy tuna roll and cost you noticeably less.
Segura Viudas Brut Rosé Cava + Spicy Sushi Rolls
Brut Rosé Cava has enough acidity and effervescence to cut through spice and creamy sauces without getting steamrolled — it's a natural match for a sushi roll with heat, and it keeps the rooftop energy going without weighing things down.
❌ The Bottom Line
Prime Social is a rooftop experience first and a wine destination approximately never — come for the views and the cocktails, and if you do order wine, keep it simple and skip the Veuve. Nobody's coming here for the list.
