You walk into a mezcal bar and the last thing you expect is a focused, all-Mexican wine list — but here we are. Eight bottles, eight by-the-glass pours, zero filler from Napa or Bordeaux. Patria is making a statement, and honestly, we're here for it.
The list is small but deliberately built around Mexican producers you won't find anywhere else in Atlanta — Bruma's Plan B Chardonnay out of Valle de Guadalupe, De Cote's Atempo Albariño, and the Dos Buhos Chenin Blanc give the white side real range. Reds are anchored by the Palafox Pionero Red Blend and El Bajío Tinto, which lean earthy and food-friendly rather than fruit-bomby. There's even a Telmont Réserve Brut to open with — a French Champagne sneaking into an otherwise all-Mexico lineup, which feels like a small concession to crowd comfort. The gap here is depth: no library bottles, no verticals, no real digging to do. But for a mezcal-first spot, this is a sharper wine program than most.
Every bottle on the list pours by the glass, which we respect — no dead-end bottles you can only get if you commit to the whole thing. Prices run $16–$26 per pour, which starts to sting when you're three glasses in. The Telmont Réserve Brut at the top of that range is probably the ceiling we'd stop at.
Dos Buhos Chenin Blanc — $16
Chenin Blanc from Mexico is still a novelty, and at the low end of the glass price range, this is where you stretch your dollar and your palate at the same time. Order it, be the interesting person at the table.
De Cote Atempo Albariño
Most people see Albariño and think Galicia. A Mexican-grown Albariño from a producer like De Cote is a genuinely rare thing in Atlanta — skip past it and you're leaving the most interesting wine on the list untouched.
Telmont Réserve Brut
It's a fine Champagne, but it's also the only non-Mexican wine on the list and feels like an afterthought. If you're paying $26 a glass, you came here for Mexico — drink Mexico.
Casa Jipi Sauvignon Blanc + Tacos de pescado
A bright, citrus-driven Sauvignon Blanc from Mexico cuts through fried fish and any creamy slaw without competing with the heat. It's the most obvious match on the menu and obvious for good reason.
The Bottom Line
Patria is a mezcal bar doing something genuinely unexpected with its wine list — an all-Mexican lineup that earns your attention even if the pricing occasionally tests your patience. If you're curious about what Mexican wine actually tastes like, this is your best classroom in Atlanta.
