The wine list at Osaka Nikkei leans hard into bubbles and bold reds, which tells you exactly what they're thinking: fat, citrusy ceviche needs acid, and that $165 Osaka Steak needs structure. It's a focused list that knows its lane — upscale Nikkei fusion with cocktails and pisco pulling most of the weight.
You're looking at Champagne-forward with some smart Italian sparklers (Ca' del Bosco Franciacorta is a solid choice for people who balk at Champagne prices), South American reds that make geographical sense with Peruvian cuisine, and Napa heavyweights for the steak crowd. The Luca Old Vine Malbec from Uco Valley is a thoughtful nod to the Peruvian side of the equation, while Quintessa and other Napa cabs serve the Japanese wagyu program. What's missing: mid-tier Burgundy, more affordable Old World options, and any real depth beyond the sparkler-and-steak playbook. This is a greatest-hits list, not a deep cut collection.
We didn't get a full glass list breakdown, but given the sommelier on staff and the upscale positioning, expect a tight BTG selection anchored by a Champagne or two, maybe the Franciacorta, and a rotation of reds that complement the menu. The focus here is bottles for the table — this is a share-plates scene where committing to a full pour makes sense.
Ca' del Bosco Cuvée Prestige — $85
Franciacorta that drinks like Champagne for 30% less. Perfect for ceviche and you don't look cheap.
Luca Old Vine Malbec 2021
Most people sleep on Argentine wine at fusion spots, but this Uco Valley Malbec bridges the Peruvian-Japanese divide with dark fruit and spice that works with both the Pisco Ribs and richer sashimi.
Quintessa 2019
It's a beautiful Napa cab, but at likely $300+ on this list, you're paying Brickell markup on an already premium bottle. Save it for a steakhouse with better cellar pricing.
Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé NV + Kiiro Ceviche
The red fruit and crisp acidity of this rosé Champagne cuts through the citrus and aji amarillo while matching the delicate raw fish. It's the move.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Osaka Nikkei has a sommelier who understands the cuisine and a list that supports it, but you're paying Brickell prices for a compact selection. Come for the food and the bubbles — skip the trophy Napa bottles unless someone else is buying.

Chateau ZZ's is the kind of place where the setting does half the work and the sommeliers do the other half — if you let them. The list may not be adventurous, but it's professionally managed, properly stored, and served in a room that makes even a straightforward Chardonnay feel like an event.

Hereford Grill earned its Wine Spectator Award of Excellence on the back of a respectable, if predictable, California-focused cellar that does exactly one thing well: getting a serious Cab on the table next to a serious steak. If you're hunting for discovery or value, look elsewhere — but if you want a classic steakhouse wine experience with Venezuelan flair on the plate, this delivers.

Sofia is a polished Italian-steakhouse with real ambition behind the wine list — the Italian producers are legit and the Wednesday half-price night is one of the better deals in Miami. Just go in knowing you're paying for the room as much as the wine, and order accordingly.

Michael's Genuine earned its Wine Spectator nod with a French-focused list that's more considered than most Miami restaurants bother to be. It's not a destination wine experience, but it's a genuinely reliable place to drink well while eating well — and in this city, that counts for a lot.

Lucky Cat earns its Wine Spectator Award of Excellence on the strength of solid French producers, even if the list plays it a bit safe for a restaurant this loud and bold. Send a friend here for Champagne and sashimi — just don't expect the wine program to keep up with the room's ambition.
