Wingman Metrics
The wine list at MILA hits like the room itself β big, glamorous, and not messing around. We're talking 400-600 bottles anchored by Champagne, Burgundy, California, and Italy, which is exactly what you want when someone at the table is about to order wagyu dumplings in a velvet booth. Fernando Arazio holds it down as the resident sommelier, and his fingerprints are all over a list that takes itself seriously without losing the plot.
France leads the charge β Krug Grande CuvΓ©e and Louis Roederer Cristal for the table that's celebrating something real, Domaine Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet for the person who knows what's up, and Domaine de la RomanΓ©e-Conti and Domaine Leroy Chambolle-Musigny for the person who probably shouldn't be eating dumplings with it but is doing it anyway. Italy gets proper respect with Sassicaia, Tignanello, and Gaja Barbaresco β not just trophy bottles thrown on for show. California shows up with Opus One and Caymus Special Selection, which play well to the crowd MILA is pulling. The list earned its Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence in 2022 and has held it β that's not a fluke.
Twenty to thirty-five pours by the glass is a real program, not a token gesture. Glass pours run $16β$40, which tracks given the caliber of what's on offer β you're not going to find a $16 RomanΓ©e-Conti, but you shouldn't expect to. Rotation details are limited, but with Fernando steering the ship, we'd expect the BTG list to reflect the list's strengths in Champagne and white Burgundy.
Domaine Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet β $500+
In a room full of Cristal and DRC, Leflaive's Puligny-Montrachet is the move for someone who wants world-class white Burgundy without climbing the full trophy-wine ladder. It's the smartest bottle on the list for the money relative to its neighbors.
Gaja Barbaresco
In a Miami crowd chasing Champagne and Napa Cab, Gaja Barbaresco tends to get overlooked β which is wild, because this is one of Italy's greatest producers making one of Italy's greatest wines. It belongs at this table.
Caymus Vineyards Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon
Caymus Special Selection is a fine wine, but in a room with Opus One and Sassicaia, it's punching down and almost certainly marked up to a price that doesn't reflect its position in the hierarchy. There are better California and Italian reds on this list for the spend.
Krug Grande CuvΓ©e Champagne + Wagyu Dumplings
Krug's richness and toasty depth can actually stand up to fatty wagyu filling, while the bubbles cut through the dumpling wrapper. It's an absurd combination in the best possible way β which feels very on-brand for MILA.
π₯ The Bottom Line
MILA is a legit wine destination dressed up as a party β DRC, Leroy, Krug, and a certified sommelier in a MediterrAsian fever dream on Meridian Ave. Send your friends here, but tell them to let Fernando order.

Chateau ZZ's is the kind of place where the setting does half the work and the sommeliers do the other half β if you let them. The list may not be adventurous, but it's professionally managed, properly stored, and served in a room that makes even a straightforward Chardonnay feel like an event.

Hereford Grill earned its Wine Spectator Award of Excellence on the back of a respectable, if predictable, California-focused cellar that does exactly one thing well: getting a serious Cab on the table next to a serious steak. If you're hunting for discovery or value, look elsewhere β but if you want a classic steakhouse wine experience with Venezuelan flair on the plate, this delivers.

Sofia is a polished Italian-steakhouse with real ambition behind the wine list β the Italian producers are legit and the Wednesday half-price night is one of the better deals in Miami. Just go in knowing you're paying for the room as much as the wine, and order accordingly.

Michael's Genuine earned its Wine Spectator nod with a French-focused list that's more considered than most Miami restaurants bother to be. It's not a destination wine experience, but it's a genuinely reliable place to drink well while eating well β and in this city, that counts for a lot.

Lucky Cat earns its Wine Spectator Award of Excellence on the strength of solid French producers, even if the list plays it a bit safe for a restaurant this loud and bold. Send a friend here for Champagne and sashimi β just don't expect the wine program to keep up with the room's ambition.
