RagingWine reviewed Luci's Ristorante Italiano’s wine list and gave it The Reliable — RagingWine’s Vibe-Check rating. How RagingWine reviews wine lists →
Wingman Metrics
The list at Luci's reads exactly like you'd expect from an Italian steakhouse in the suburbs — familiar names, approachable prices, and zero surprises. It's not trying to impress anyone, but it's not embarrassing itself either. Think of it as a wine list that gets the job done without asking you to think too hard.
With 26 labels, Luci's keeps it tight and mostly Italian-leaning up front — Moscato d'Asti from Marenco, a La Scolca Gavi DOCG, Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio, and a Banfi Chianti Classico holding down the red side. Beyond Italy, the list leans on reliable American workhorses: Belle Glos Clark & Telephone Pinot Noir, Quilt Napa Cabernet, and J. Lohr showing up twice. There's a pleasant nod to other regions — Gotas De Mar Albariño from Rías Baixas, Henri Bourgeois Loire Sauvignon Blanc, Domaine Bousquet Malbec from Mendoza — which prevents this from feeling like a complete greatest-hits package. That said, don't come here looking for Old World depth, grower Champagne, or anything that needs a decoder ring.
Twenty-four of the 26 bottles are available by the glass, which is genuinely impressive and makes this a strong spot for table-wide variety without committing to full bottles. Glass pours range from $10 to $22, with most clustering in the $12–$16 range — reasonable for Alpharetta. The program feels static rather than rotated, but with this much coverage by the glass, that's a forgivable trade-off.
The Bottom Line
Luci's isn't going to win any wine destination awards, but the by-the-glass program is unusually broad, markup is fair across most of the list, and there are a few genuinely good picks tucked in among the crowd-pleasers. If you're eating here, you can drink well — just know what to order and what to skip.
· Alpharetta · Wine and Cigar Bar
Wine Me Down earns points for carving out a genuinely different kind of night out in Alpharetta — cigars, hookah, and wine together in one stylish room is not a combination you find everywhere in the suburbs. But until we can get a real look at the wine list with actual bottles and prices, we can't send you here specifically for the wine. Go for the atmosphere, bring cash for the cigars, and keep your wine expectations flexible.

Fermented Flight Club is doing something genuinely unusual in the Atlanta suburbs: building a wine program around obscurity as a feature, not a flaw. If you've ever wanted to try Nascetta, Marzemino, or a co-fermented red-white without flying to Italy or paying fine-dining prices, this is your spot. We'd send a curious friend here without hesitation — and tell them to let the Four Blind flight humble them a little.

Alpharetta · Alpharetta · Modern Italian
Colletta's wine list punches well above its suburban strip-mall expectations — an all-Italian program with genuine depth in whites and a sparkling section worth lingering over. The markup is honest, the by-the-glass count is generous, and the producers skew toward the interesting rather than the obvious. If you're eating here, skip the red and let the white Italian side of the list do the work.

Alpharetta · Alpharetta · Restaurant
Cooper's Hawk is a wine club experience dressed up as a restaurant, and if you're already a member, you'll feel right at home — everyone else is essentially a captive audience for a single producer's full catalog. We'd send a friend here for the club experience, not for the wine list.

Cattle Shed won't rattle any cages or win wine list awards, but it delivers a fair, well-rounded program with a by-the-glass setup that most restaurants twice its size can't match. If you're eating steak in Alpharetta and you care about what's in your glass, you could do a lot worse.

Kona Grill Alpharetta delivers a perfectly functional wine list for its audience — crowd-pleasing brands, decent by-the-glass depth, and nothing that will confuse or disappoint a table of casual drinkers. It's not a destination for wine, but it's also not a disaster, and that's more than you can say for plenty of places in this category.

Giovanni's is a reliable neighborhood anchor — the room is good, the food has a loyal following, and the Italian reds give you enough to work with if you dig past the Sand Point labels. We'd send a friend here for dinner without hesitation; we'd just steer them straight toward the Barolo or Brunello and skip the California filler.

Johnny's wine list is exactly what it is: a well-curated collection of American crowd-pleasers with markups to match the steakhouse zip code. You won't be wowed, but you won't be stuck either — and 28 glasses by the pour means you have options.

The wine list here is an afterthought dressed up with four surprisingly good dessert wines. Come for the steak, order water or a cocktail through dinner, then let the back half of this list redeem itself.
