The wine list at Lola Wine Lounge is essentially a love letter to one producer — LOLA Artisanal Wines — and that's a bold swing for a wine bar in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Every bottle on the list carries the LOLA label, which either signals deep conviction or a very convenient partnership. Either way, it's a clear point of view, and we respect that more than a generic grab-bag list.
Twenty-three labels sounds modest, but LOLA's lineup covers serious ground: Albariño, Dry Muscat (including a Straw Wine), Monterey Dry Riesling, Chenin Blanc, Malvasia Bianca, Vermentino, Sémillon — this is a white wine program built for people who are genuinely curious, not just ordering Chardonnay on autopilot. The reds get interesting too, with Counoise, Charbono, and a Paseante Noir sitting alongside the expected Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel. The Napa Valley Malbec 2022 and Sonoma Coast Chardonnay round out the more accessible end of the list. The single-producer format does mean zero Old World representation and no wild-card bottles from outside California, which is a real gap if you're looking for Burgundy or Barolo.
With a lounge format built around tasting flights, it's reasonable to assume most of the list is available by the glass — that's essentially the whole point of the place. If you want variety across regions and producers, this isn't your spot; if you want to actually learn something about under-the-radar California varietals in a relaxed setting, it's worth a stop.
