First Impression
Little Betty's wine list reads like a greatest hits album of California Cabernet — if you've been to any upscale steakhouse in the last decade, you've seen this tracklist before. That's not necessarily a knock; sometimes you just want the song you know. The Wine Spectator Award of Excellence since 2024 signals they're doing something right, even if they're not exactly pushing boundaries.
Selection Deep Dive
The list runs 80-120 bottles with a laser focus on California, and they lean hard into the Napa and Sonoma heavy-hitters: Caymus, Silver Oak, Far Niente, Stag's Leap, Jordan. It's a reliable roster for steakhouse drinking, but don't come looking for anything from Burgundy, Barolo, or the Rhône. The Italian half of the menu concept feels underserved by a list that's almost entirely California-centric — a few Barolos or Brunellos would make a lot of sense here and are conspicuously absent. Still, within the California lane, the producers are legit and the selections are well-chosen for the format.
By the Glass
With 12-18 pours available by the glass, there's enough range to work through a meal without committing to a bottle — and for a steakhouse, that's actually a decent showing. Expect Rombauer Chardonnay and likely a Sonoma-Cutrer to anchor the white side, with California Cabs holding down the red. The rotation appears static rather than seasonal, but the selections themselves are crowd-pleasing and approachable.
Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon — $90
Jordan Alexander Valley consistently punches above its retail price in steakhouse settings, and it's often the most honest bottle on a list full of heavily marked-up Napa names. It's the move if you want serious Cab without paying Far Niente prices.
Sonoma-Cutrer Chardonnay
Everyone reaches for Rombauer on autopilot, but Sonoma-Cutrer is the quieter, more structured pick — less butter-bombed, better with food, and typically a few dollars cheaper. It doesn't have the Instagram reputation, which is exactly why you should order it.
Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon
Caymus is everywhere, and steakhouse markup on it is almost always punishing. You're paying a premium for a name that retail shelves stock for significantly less — save the cash for something that earns its price tag on this list.
Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon + Steak
Stag's Leap brings an elegance and structure that holds up to a serious cut of beef without bludgeoning it — it's got the tannin backbone you need and enough finesse that it doesn't feel like a one-note power play. Classic match, and one of the better reasons to be on this list.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Little Betty is a polished, comfortable steakhouse with a wine list that delivers exactly what it promises — California's greatest hits at steakhouse prices. We'd send a friend here for a solid night out, just with the warning to leave their Old World curiosity at the door.
