Wingman Metrics
The wine list at Hudson Social reads exactly like the restaurant looks — polished enough, crowd-friendly, no rough edges. Nine labels covering the usual suspects: Prosecco, Pinot Grigio, Rosé, Malbec, Cab. It's a cocktail bar that happens to serve wine, and the list knows it.
You're not coming here for a deep dive into Burgundy or an off-the-beaten-path Jura discovery. The list pulls from Italy, France, California, Argentina, and New Zealand — safe geographical spread, zero surprises. Ruffino does double duty with both the Prosecco and the Pinot Grigio, Rodney Strong holds down California Chardonnay, and San Huberto brings the Argentine Malbec contingent. Domaine Roman Pinot Noir is the most interesting pour on the list, which isn't saying a lot, but it at least gestures toward something beyond grocery store shelving.
Eight of the nine labels are available by the glass, which is the right call for a social, small-plates spot where people are sharing plates and switching gears. The $5 floor on glass pours is genuinely accessible, though markups climb steeply from there — expect to pay 4x or more over retail on most pours. The Wednesday 'Winesdays' deal ($1.50 off glasses, half-price bottles with an entrée purchase) is the only time this list becomes a real conversation.
Les Lavandieras Rosé — $9/glass
On a Wednesday Winesday, this Provençal-style Rosé at effectively $7.50 a glass alongside a brick oven pizza is the move. It's the most food-friendly pour on the list and the one most likely to be fresh and properly chilled.
Domaine Roman Pinot Noir
Everyone at Hudson Social is ordering the Malbec or the Cab. The Domaine Roman Pinot Noir gets overlooked, which means it's probably the freshest bottle on the red side of the list. For a lively tapas spot, a lighter-bodied Pinot is actually the smarter call than a heavy Cab.
Ely by Callaway Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon
Callaway is a pleasant enough winery but Ely is their entry-level tier, and at Hudson Social's markup you're paying a premium for a wine you can grab at any supermarket for around $12. Order the Malbec or just get a cocktail.
Moko Sauvignon Blanc + Fresh seafood small plates
New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and fresh seafood is a formula for a reason — Moko's citrus-driven profile cuts through any briny, buttery prep and keeps things lively across multiple small plates.
Wednesday — Winesdays: half off all bottles of wine and $1.50 off glasses during Social/Happy Hour on Wednesdays, with purchase of an entrée or as part of midweek specials.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Hudson Social is a fun downtown spot that treats wine as a supporting cast member, not the star — and that's fine, as long as you know what you're walking into. Come on a Wednesday, order the Rosé or the Pinot Noir, and spend the rest of your budget on cocktails.

Kouzina is doing the right things with Greek wine in a city that doesn't ask for it, and that's worth something. Pricing runs a little hot, but if you stick to the Greek producers and let the Assyrtiko do its thing, you'll eat and drink well.

Geronimo is a tequila bar first and a wine destination never — but for what it is, the wine list punches above its weight class. If you're the one at the table who doesn't want a margarita, you're not stranded here.

Lucky's isn't a wine destination, and it doesn't try to be — but the prices are fair, everything's available by the glass, and a Malbec with a cheeseburger is genuinely a good idea. Come for the malt, stay for the Malbec.

Zaza is a genuinely fun spot to drink wine if you show up on a Monday, when half-price bottles turn a steep list into a reasonable one. Come any other night and you're paying full markup on wines you could pick up at Total Wine on the way home.

Springdale · Stamford · Italian
Table 104 is punching above its Springdale weight class — the Italian selections alone make it worth a visit, and the Barolo by the glass is a straight-up steal. The markups get aggressive on the California side, but stick to the Italian half of this list and you'll drink very well.

Fin II is here for the sushi and hibachi, and the wine list makes no bones about that. Come for the food, order sake, and if you must have wine, grab the Riesling and move on.
