Wingman Metrics
The wine list here is four lines long, and that's being generous. It's less a wine program and more a legal obligation to offer something fermented that isn't beer.
Four bottles, all white, all sitting at $8 flat. Two Pinot Gris options — Mary Hill and Eola Hills — a Mary Hill Chardonnay, and a Barefoot Pinot Grigio that makes zero effort to hide what it is. The Eola Hills label at least nods to the Willamette Valley's serious wine country sitting practically next door, but the list as a whole doesn't follow that lead. There's no red, no rosé, no exploration of the incredible Columbia Gorge producers that Hood River is quite literally surrounded by.
All four wines are available by the glass at $8, which is at least honest and approachable. There's no rotation, no seasonal thinking — what you see today is what you saw six months ago and what you'll see six months from now.
Eola Hills Pinot Gris — $8
Eola Hills is a real Oregon producer making real Oregon wine. At $8 a glass in a taqueria, this is the one bottle on the list that actually belongs in the region it's being poured in.
Mary Hill Chardonnay
Mary Hill is a Columbia Gorge winery — literally local to Hood River — and most people grabbing a margarita here have no idea they're ordering from a producer just down the river. It's not a revelation, but it's more interesting than its surroundings suggest.
Barefoot Pinot Grigio
You're in Hood River, Oregon, surrounded by some of the best Pinot Gris country in the Pacific Northwest, and this is a grocery store brand available at Safeway for $7 a bottle. Skip it and put the $8 toward a second margarita.
Eola Hills Pinot Gris + Fish Tacos
Pinot Gris has enough weight to stand up to the char and spice while keeping things crisp alongside fish. It's the most sensible combination on an otherwise limited menu.
The Bottom Line
Hood River Taqueria is here for the tacos and the margaritas, and that's completely fine — but the wine list is an afterthought and everyone involved knows it. Order the cocktails, leave the wine to restaurants that care.

3 Rivers Grill is a genuinely solid wine destination for a mid-sized grill in Hood River — the Pacific Northwest selections are legit, the view earns its own tip, and a few bottles here are worth making a reservation for specifically. The markups on trophy bottles will make you wince, but stick to the regional lineup and you'll leave happy.

Sakura Ridge isn't a wine destination — it's a lodge that happens to have a small, surprisingly honest wine list for guests who want something worth drinking with their orchard views. If you're staying here, lean into it; if you're driving out just for wine, the Columbia Gorge has better options nearby.

Henni's is a genuine surprise — a chef-driven neighborhood spot in a small Washington town that built a wine list with actual intention. If you're passing through the Gorge and think wine stops at Hood River, White Salmon has an argument to make.

Ferment is a genuinely great brewery, and we'd send anyone to Hood River for their beer and their patio. But the wine list is an afterthought in the middle of one of America's best wine regions, and that's hard to forgive — order a pint and save the wine for a spot that's trying.
