Wingman Metrics
Twenty-two labels isn't a lot, but the first scan of this list stops you cold — Timorasso Pét-Nat, Nero Buono, Greco di Tufo, Lagrein. This is not your red-checkered-tablecloth Pinot Grigio operation. Someone here actually cares, and they want you to drink something you've never heard of.
The list is tight but punches well above its weight with a clear Italian-first identity and a genuine love of obscure southern and alpine varietals. You've got Alto Adige Sylvaner from Köfererhof sitting next to a Rocca di Principe Irpinia Aglianico and a Cirelli orange Trebbiano — that's a wild geographic sweep for 22 bottles. The Idlewild 'Flora & Fauna' Barbera and Dolcetto blend is the lone California outlier, but it earns its spot. The gaps are real — no serious Nebbiolo, no Barolo or Barbaresco to speak of — but what's here is deliberate and interesting rather than safe and forgettable.
Nine pours by the glass running $11–$16 is a solid setup, and the glass program covers all the bases: sparkling, white, rosato, skin contact, and red. The fact that they've got a by-the-glass skin contact option (Cirelli 'Orange' Trebbiano) at an Italian kitchen in Atlanta tells you everything about the ambition level here. Rotation details are unclear, but the current lineup gives you real choices rather than the usual Cab-Chard-Pinot shrug.
Beccaris Chianti Sangiovese 2023 — $20 (bottle est.)
Chianti at the low end of a list this eclectic is almost always the sleeper. Beccaris is a solid Piedmontese producer, and if this is priced anywhere near the bottom of the $20–$110 range, it's the easy crowd-pleaser that still has something to say.
Ezio Poggio 'Lunatico' Timorasso Pét-Nat 2022
Timorasso is Piedmont's best-kept secret grape — a rich, structured white with real aging potential. In Pét-Nat form it's playful and fizzy without being frivolous. Most tables will walk right past it and that's their loss.
Giuseppe & Luigi Prosecco Glera
Nothing wrong with it, but on a list this interesting, defaulting to a house Prosecco is a waste of a glass. It's the path of least resistance on a list that's practically begging you to take a detour.
Rocca di Principe Irpinia Aglianico 2022 + Any braised meat or lamb dish on the menu
Aglianico is built for red meat — big tannins, high acid, dark fruit. It needs something with fat and weight to push back, and a slow-braised lamb or beef from an Italian kitchen is exactly the sparring partner it's looking for.
The Bottom Line
Gigi's has no business having a wine list this interesting for an Atlanta neighborhood Italian spot — and we mean that as high praise. If you're willing to trust the list and skip the Pinot Grigio reflex, you'll drink very well here.

Sushi By Bou is clearly here to serve great fish — and the wine list confirms that wine is very much an afterthought. Order the Dom if you're feeling flush or the Hampton Water if you're being sensible, and let the food do the heavy lifting.

Rose & Rye isn't a destination for wine nerds, but it's a perfectly functional list for a date night where the wine is supporting the evening, not headlining it. Order the Crémant, avoid the Caymus markup, and you'll do just fine.
