First Impression

Fork's wine list doesn't try to impress you with size โ€” 50 bottles is a tight edit, but it reads like someone actually made decisions rather than just bulk-ordering from a distributor catalog. There's a sommelier in the building and it shows. The $30โ€“$60 price range keeps things accessible without feeling cheap.

Selection Deep Dive

The list leans Old World with a genuine curiosity about Spain โ€” the Ribera del Duero and Rueda presence is a real differentiator for a Market Street restaurant that could easily coast on Napa and Burgundy. There are nods to lesser-traveled regions: Loupiac from Bordeaux's right bank, a sparkling Lambrusco from Modena, and Loire representation via Sancerre. The gaps are real โ€” no deep Burgundy or Barolo rabbit hole here โ€” but what's here has been chosen with intention, not inertia. For a 50-bottle list, it punches well above its weight class.

By the Glass

Eight by-the-glass options is respectable without being excessive, and the presence of the Cleto Chiarli Lambrusco di Sorbara on the list signals that whoever built this program isn't just pouring the same Pinot Grigio that every other restaurant in a three-block radius serves. We'd like to see a bit more rotation, but the foundation is solid.

๐Ÿ’ฐBest Value

Cleto Chiarli Vecchia Modena Lambrusco di Sorbara Secco NV โ€” $30

Dry, fizzy, and food-friendly in ways that most people don't expect from Lambrusco โ€” this isn't the sweet stuff your aunt brings to Thanksgiving. At the low end of Fork's price range, it over-delivers and works with half the menu.

๐Ÿ’ŽHidden Gem

Loupiac Gaudiet Loupiac

A sweet wine from Bordeaux's right bank that most diners will walk right past โ€” but it's a sleeper. Loupiac doesn't get the press that Sauternes does, which means you get a similar experience without the premium. Worth ordering if you're finishing with cheese or a rich dessert.

โ›”Skip This

Morin Sancerre

Sancerre is the wine everyone orders when they want to feel safe, and Fork's version doesn't give you a compelling reason to break that habit โ€” or to pay for it. With more interesting Loire and Iberian options on the same list, defaulting to the most predictable French white is a missed opportunity.

๐Ÿฝ๏ธPerfect Pairing

Raventes Sauvignon Blanc + Fluke Crudo

Bright acidity and citrus-forward character in the Raventes cuts right through the richness of a crudo while amplifying whatever acid component the kitchen is working with โ€” citrus, vinegar, whatever the cure is. Clean, sharp, and exactly what raw fish wants next to it.

๐ŸŽฒ The Bottom Line

Fork is the kind of place where the wine list rewards attention โ€” it's not flashy, but it's genuinely considered, priced fairly, and backed by staff who know what's on it. Yes, send a friend here for wine.
