Almost half of them are from one producer, Josef Leitz out of the Rheingau, and the fact that someone in Telluride bet this hard on a single German house is either madness or confidence. Rounding things out are a Sorgento Brut Prosecco NV, a Leitz Sparkling Blanc de Blanc, a J.L. Chave Selections Roussanne/Marsanne 2022 (a Rhône white that has absolutely no business being this interesting on a nine-bottle list), and a Lady of the Sunshine Pinot Noir 2024. The geographic range is narrow — Germany, the Rhône, Italy, and what appears to be California — but every bottle feels intentional. There are no filler wines here; someone made real decisions.
