Great Ribs, Wine List Is an Afterthought

The wine list at Bubba's is about as ambitious as you'd expect from a place whose menu peaks at smoked brisket and pulled pork — which is to say, not very. We're talking house pours and not much else. This is a beer-and-BBQ operation that happens to have wine on the menu, not a restaurant that thinks about wine.
There's no actual wine list to speak of here — just a small handful of by-the-glass options that look like they came straight off a Sysco order sheet. House Cab, House Chardonnay, White Zinfandel. That's the range. No producers listed, no regions worth discussing, no depth whatsoever. If you showed up hoping to find something interesting from Paso Robles or even a basic Washington Syrah to stand up to the smoke, you're going home disappointed. The wine program exists only to check a box.
Three options — House Cabernet Sauvignon, House Chardonnay, and White Zinfandel — at $7–$10 a glass. At those prices, complaints are hard to justify, but so is excitement. There's no rotation, no seasonal thinking, and nothing that suggests anyone has looked at this part of the menu since it was first printed.
House Cabernet Sauvignon — $10
If you're going to drink wine here, the House Cab is your move. It's cheap enough that expectations are appropriately managed, and a smoky, tannic red is at least a logical call alongside brisket or ribs.
House Cabernet Sauvignon
It's not hidden and it's not a gem, but pairing a big red with heavily smoked meats is a better instinct than most people follow at a BBQ joint. At $10 a glass, you could do worse.
White Zinfandel
Nothing about a rack of St. Louis ribs calls for a sweet pink wine. This is on the list for nostalgia reasons only. Order a beer instead.
House Cabernet Sauvignon + Brisket Plate
Brisket's fat and smoke need something with enough structure to push back. The House Cab isn't exciting, but the tannins and dark fruit do the job. It's a functional pairing in the most honest sense of the word.
❌ The Bottom Line
Bubba's is a genuinely good BBQ spot, and nobody goes there for the wine — nor should they. Order a beer, eat the ribs, and save your wine curiosity for somewhere else in Jackson.
Jackson Town · Jackson Hole · Barbecue
Bubba's doesn't pretend to be a wine destination, and we respect the honesty — but the list is the definition of set-it-and-forget-it. Order a beer, enjoy the ribs, and save your wine curiosity for somewhere that reciprocates.

Teton Village · Jackson Hole · Outdoor Bar
The Handle Bar is the kind of wine program that does exactly what it needs to do for its setting — no more, no less. You'll drink well here if you pick smart, but this isn't a destination for wine people so much as a very competent resort bar that happens to have Opus One on the list.

Persephone isn't a wine destination, but it absolutely punches above its weight for what it is — a bakery-café with a genuinely thoughtful short list of natural pours at fair prices. If you're in Jackson and want a glass of something interesting without the steakhouse markup, this is your move.

Town of Jackson · Jackson Hole · French-Inspired Bistro
The Bistro earns its stripes as a reliable wine destination in Jackson Hole — the sommelier influence is visible, the European focus is coherent, and the list has depth worth exploring. Just go in knowing the markups are hotel-resort territory, and steer toward the Old World bottles where the curation is strongest.

The Grill at Spring Creek Ranch delivers a competent, crowd-pleasing wine list that matches the lodge aesthetic perfectly — reliable, a little expensive, and zero risk. If you're here for the views and the bison, you'll drink well enough; just don't come expecting the list to match the drama outside the window.

Bin22 is the wine bar that has no business being this good in the middle of Wyoming ski country, and that's exactly why we're sending people here. If you're in Jackson Hole and you care about what's in your glass, this is the only address that matters.

House of 'Que is a genuinely fun spot for barbecue and live music — just don't come here expecting wine to be part of the experience. Order a beer, eat the brisket, and save your wine night for somewhere that cares.

Wood Ranch isn't a wine destination, but it's not trying to be — it's a well-run BBQ chain that gives you enough decent California red to get through a plate of ribs without embarrassment. Grab the Rodney Strong, order the tri tip, and call it a win.

Order the brisket, order the ribs, order a Lone Star — and leave the wine list alone. This is not a wine destination and it doesn't pretend to be, except that it's still charging you like one.
