Walk into a French bistro in the middle of Washington wine country and you half-expect a list drowning in local Cabernet. Instead, Brasserie Four's wine card reads like a flight itinerary through the Loire, Rhône, and Provence, with a handful of Walla Walla locals earning their seat at the table. It's a confident curatorial statement from a small restaurant that clearly has a point of view.
Twenty-four labels sounds modest, but the range here punches above its weight. The French backbone is strong — Chanteleuserie Bourgueil from the Loire, Perrin's Côtes du Rhône Reserve, a Vouvray from Pichot/Dom le Peu Morette, Delhommeau Muscadet sur Lie, and a Triennes rosé from Var — giving the list genuine regional breadth rather than just greatest hits. The bubble section earns serious credit: Delamotte Brut Champagne, a J. Cattin Crémant d'Alsace Rosé, and Antech Blanquette de Limoux cover three distinct sparkling categories at three different price points, which is rare for a place this size. Local pride shows up thoughtfully with Reininger Merlot, MarkRyan Cab, Grammercy Cellars Pinot Noir, and Devison Vintners Above The Flood — Washington's finest get a fair shake without overtaking the French identity. The only gap is depth: no Burgundy beyond the Chablis, and if you want to linger over older vintages, this isn't the cellar for it.
Every bottle on the list is also available by the glass, which is either generous or a sign the list is sized to match — either way, it's a win for solo diners and indecisive tables. Glass pours run $8 to $19, with Delamotte Brut Champagne topping the range at $19/glass and the house pours anchoring the low end at $8/glass. There's no evidence of a rotating BTG program, so what you see is what you get — but what you see is legitimately good.
The Bottom Line
Brasserie Four is a French bistro in wine country that somehow resists the obvious move of leaning hard on local bottles, and the list is better for it. Fair pricing, smart French selections, and a sparkling section that embarrasses restaurants three times its size make this a genuine destination pour in Walla Walla. If you're in town for the Washington wine trail, this is the stop where you take a break from Cab and remember France exists.

Passatempo is exactly the kind of place where Walla Walla's wine identity and Italian-American kitchen instincts should collide in interesting ways — and by all accounts, the room and concept deliver on that promise. We don't have the full list detail to call it a Rager, but the regional focus and cuisine alignment earn it a Wild Card: unexpected upside in a setting that could've played it much safer. Make a reservation, ask the staff what's local, and let the osso buco do the rest.
