You pull into what looks like a gas station, order tacos at a counter, and then notice they're pouring Basel Cellars and Tranche Cellars. This is either the best accident in Walla Walla or a deliberate flex — we're going with the latter. The list is short, local, and punches way above its setting.
The list runs 10 to 25 bottles deep and stays firmly planted in Washington State, with a clear tilt toward Walla Walla Valley producers. Basel Cellars Estate Merlot and Tranche Cellars Grenache anchor the selection — both solid regional names that most restaurants in far fancier rooms don't bother to stock. There's also a rotating house pour sourced from a local Walla Walla producer, which is exactly the right call for a spot like this. Gaps exist — no white wine depth, no sparkling, nothing from outside the state — but given the context, the focus feels intentional rather than lazy.
You're looking at four to eight options by the glass, priced between $7 and $13, which is genuinely reasonable for the Walla Walla market. The rotating local pour keeps things interesting week to week. Don't expect a lengthy chalk board of options, but what's there is drinkable and regionally honest.
Tranche Cellars Grenache — $13/glass
Tranche makes serious Rhône-style wine in Walla Walla, and getting it by the glass at this price point while eating tacos at a co-op is exactly the kind of thing we live for.
Andrae's Kitchen rotating house local pour
Most people skip the house pour out of habit, but here it rotates through actual Walla Walla producers — ask what's on and you might end up with something genuinely interesting for $7 or $8 a glass.
Basel Cellars Estate Merlot
Basel Cellars is a fine winery, but their Estate Merlot is the most recognizable name on the list and likely carries the least interesting price-to-discovery ratio here. Go for the Grenache instead.
Tranche Cellars Grenache + Gas station tacos
Grenache's bright red fruit and gentle spice don't fight the seasoning on the tacos — they amplify it. It's a ridiculous combination in the best possible way.
🎲 The Bottom Line
A counter-service spot inside a farm co-op with legitimately good local wine is the Wild Card energy Walla Walla didn't know it needed. Send your friends here, especially the ones who think wine has to be stuffy.

Public House 124 is the wine list a great pub should have and almost never does — locally focused, fairly priced, and thoughtful enough to include draft Proletariat wines alongside Rotie and Gramercy. Send your friends here absolutely, just maybe skip the Segura Viudas.
