The wine list at Louie Bossi's reads like it was assembled by committee — heavy on recognizable Italian names you'd find at any upscale chain, light on discovery. It's the kind of list where you know what you're getting before you even open it: Tuscan reds, Pinot Grigio, a token Barolo.
The Italian focus makes sense given the concept, but the selections play it remarkably safe. You'll find your standard Chianti Classicos, a handful of Piedmont options, and the obligatory Super Tuscans at prices that make you wince. The southern Italian representation is minimal — a missed opportunity given Florida's heat and the cuisine's possibilities. What's here isn't bad, just predictable, leaning heavily on producers that move volume rather than ones that tell stories. The list does what it needs to do for a bustling restaurant group operation, nothing more.
Glass pours skew toward the greatest hits: a Pinot Grigio, a Montepulciano, maybe a Chianti. They rotate occasionally but don't expect weekly surprises. The pours are generous enough and the wines are sound, if uninspiring — think solid commercial bottlings that can handle high-volume service. For a quick dinner with friends who just want something red and Italian, it gets the job done.
Cantina Zaccagnini Montepulciano d'Abruzzo — $42
Reliable crowd-pleaser that drinks well above its price point, with enough fruit and structure to handle their heartier pasta dishes without breaking the bank
Feudi di San Gregorio Falanghina
If it's on the list, this Campanian white gets overlooked for Pinot Grigio, but it's got more personality and acidity to cut through cream sauces and fried appetizers
Any Barolo over $100
The markup on premium Piedmont here is aggressive, and you're paying for the name on a list that doesn't show the care these bottles deserve
Allegrini Valpolicella Classico + Bolognese pasta
The bright cherry and herbal notes in this Valpolicella mirror the tomato-meat sauce without overwhelming it, and the price point won't make you regret ordering a second bottle
✔️ The Bottom Line
Louie Bossi's won't blow your mind with wine, but it won't ruin your night either. Order mid-range, skip the trophy bottles, and you'll drink just fine while you eat your carbonara.

The Terrace Grill isn't where you go to chase down rare bottles or get your mind blown by an unexpected producer — it's where you go to drink well without overthinking it. For waterfront Mediterranean dining in Fort Lauderdale, that's a perfectly respectable offer.

Anthony's Runway 84 is a Fort Lauderdale institution that knows its audience and delivers exactly what it promises: big Napa names, old-school Italian comfort, and no surprises. Wine-forward diners may find the list a little safe, but the Italian highlights and the fresh Wine Spectator Award of Excellence signal that someone here is paying attention — even if the list isn't ready to take risks.

Ft. Lauderdale Beach · Fort Lauderdale · Steak House
Steak 954 is a legitimately strong wine program for a beach hotel steakhouse — deep on the producers that matter, proper storage, and a by-the-glass count that punches above its weight. Markups are what they are at this address, but if you pick smart, this is a great place to drink wine with a serious piece of beef.

MAASS is the real thing — a sommelier-driven program with genuine depth, proper glassware, and staff that actually knows what's in the cellar. Markups run steep at the top end, but this is a Best of Award of Excellence list for a reason, and it earns every bit of the credential.

Daniel's is a legitimate Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence earner — the list is deep, the heavy hitters are all here, and the room is built for serious wine drinking. The markups sting and there's no sommelier pushing you toward discovery, but if you know what you're looking for, this is one of Fort Lauderdale's best bottles-over-dinner experiences.

West Toledo / Reynolds Corner · Toledo · Italian
There's one reason to come here for wine: Thursday. Half-price bottles on a standing weekly basis is a genuinely good deal, especially on the Santa Margherita. Any other night, the markups are steep and the list doesn't justify them.

Carrabba's Toledo isn't a destination for wine — but it's not an embarrassment either. The Ruffino Chianti Classico alone earns its keep, and if you stick to the Italian side of the list, you'll drink reasonably well without drama.

Marisi is a reliable Italian wine list with genuine ambition hiding behind a steep markup structure — the producers are right, the regions are right, but you'll pay for the privilege. Go for the Produttori Barbaresco and the Pre-Phylloxera Barbera, and you'll leave satisfied.
