The Wine Program
Do not let the East Cobb strip-mall location fool you. Stem is run by Advanced Sommelier Brian Teague, and the wine program is world-class for any venue, let alone a casual wine bar. The list breaks varietals into Classic and Adventurous categories, making it approachable for newcomers while rewarding experienced drinkers. Enomatic wine dispensers keep rare, pricier reds fresh, allowing 3-ounce and 6-ounce pours of bottles you would normally have to commit to. Bordeaux, Napa Cabernet, and Burgundy by the taste.
The Experience
The food menu (shrimp al ajillo, duck confit salad, braised short ribs) is designed to pair with the wine program. Regular wine dinners and educational events round out the experience. The staff knows the list because the Advanced Sommelier who built it is usually in the room.
The Play
The Enomatic dispensers are the unlock. Taste a $150 Napa Cab in a 3-ounce pour for a fraction of the bottle price. Then compare it to a Bordeaux at the same level. That side-by-side education is worth the drive to Marietta. Ask Brian what is drinking best right now. He will know.
🔥 The Bottom Line
Stem Wine Bar is the best-kept wine secret in metro Atlanta. An Advanced Sommelier, Enomatic rare pours, and a program that would be a destination in Buckhead. The fact that it is in a Marietta strip mall just makes it a better story.
